I started learning piano in 1994 thanks to my first music teacher at George Kennedy public school in Georgetown. Lynda Sharpe could see I had talent and suggested my parents enroll me in piano lessons. Ms. Sharpe was part of the inspiration for the C Sharp Music name. My first teacher for piano was Joanne Brown in Georgetown. I studied with her for many years and won competitions both as a soloist as well as with a ensemble we called “The Nifty Notes“.
In 2006 I began teaching private music lessons while studying music at Mohawk College. Having over 90% average going into my final year allowed me to earn a scholarship from Steel Town Friends of Mohawk Music. After Graduating in 2009 I taught independently before opening C Sharp Music Academy in 2012. Outside of teaching I have worked as a pianist for weddings, ceremonies, choirs, and as a RCM exam accompanist.
